Creating Uplifting Classrooms

Creating Uplifting Classroom Environments: Environmental Support for New Teachers
How are you supporting your early-career educators? CCOSA and the K20 Center have partnered to provide valuable training and support.
The K20 Center has developed the “Uplifting Classroom Environment” model. Its goal is to provide early-career teachers with a number of practical, research-based tools and activities to help them to begin teaching successfully. This professional development’s objectives come from this model and will introduce participants to a multitude of strategies that actively engage students in rigorous instruction that can be delivered in a face-to-face format or modified to an online format.
In this professional development, the following objectives will be addressed:
Environmental Support
- Understanding Physical Spaces
- Developing Rules, Procedures, & Interventions
- Building Student/Teacher Relationships
Environmental Challenge
- Active Engagement Strategies/ Lesson Design
- Rigorous Lesson Design
- Sustaining Administrative Support

All of the attendees gained valuable skills that can immediately be used when our students return. The Uplifting Classrooms curriculum has been a wonderful addition to the before-school training regimen for our new/newer teachers. We look forward to working with you again and BPS also appreciates the efforts of CCOSA to partner with The K20 Center to make this wonderful training a possibility." - Jason Langham, Executive Director of Special Services & School Operation, Bartlesville Public Schools
