SUMMARY: Provide district-wide leadership within District Services.  This position will evaluate and anticipate needs, proactively identify solutions and resources, and analyze outcomes.  This position will also provide oversight for district-wide safety policies and procedures, and assist in site-specific safety protocols.  Provide support to multiple departments within District Services.  

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: These statements are intended to describe the responsibilities assigned to this position and are not intended to represent an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required. 

  1. Assist the Assistant Superintendent in the general administration of District Services and support department culture through leadership.
  2. Evaluate and analyze safety procedures at the district and site levels.
  3. Research, plan, and implement current industry standard safety and security practices and procedures district-wide.
  4. Provide support for other directors within District Services to supply coverage of duties during and after normal office hours as needed.
  5. Collaborate with fellow administrators on a regular basis to monitor the effectiveness of business practices, general operating procedures, and safety procedures throughout the district.
  6. Coordinate the School Resource Officers (SROs) and serve as the main liaison with the Owasso Police Department.
  7. Manage and oversee district-wide controlled access and security camera software, and partner with Operations, Technology, and vendors to enhance and expand these security systems.
  8. Partner with Transportation to review, maintain, and enhance bus cameras and security. 
  9. Provide leadership for the safety of the schools on a regular basis, which includes the safety inspections and safety drill practice activities.
  10. Perform administrative tasks (recordkeeping, incident reporting, process documentation, etc.) as directed by the Assistant Superintendent of District Services.
  11. Provide supervision and safety consultation for extra-curricular activities outside of the regularly scheduled school day as needed.
  12. Establish and maintain relationships with local community groups and individuals to foster understanding and solicit support for overall school objectives and programs.
  13. Lead, supervise, and manage personnel as directed by the Assistant Superintendent of District Services.
  14. Adhere to all federal and state laws and Board policies while serving as an administrator.
  15. Other duties as assigned.

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

 

Supervises certified and non-certified personnel as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of District Service. 

 

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the district’s policies and applicable laws including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

  1. Bachelor’s Degree required
  2. Master’s Degree preferred
  3. Leadership experience in a public school setting preferred

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:  Thorough knowledge of generally accepted principles of educational leadership, strategic planning, and instructional practices for students. Knowledge of procedures, techniques and strategies pertaining to the operation of a school. Ability to carry out responsibilities with little or no supervision. Ability to lead multiple priorities with frequent interruptions.  Ability to effectively analyze problems, issues, and concerns for the purpose of formulating appropriate alternative solutions. Ability to interact effectively with students, staff, parents, and community members. Organizational, prioritization, communication and interpersonal skills are required to achieve the goals of this position.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret English language including common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from parents, other district personnel, or members of the community.  Ability to effectively present information to a variety of audiences in a variety of settings.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

 

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

LICENSES and REGISTRATIONS:  Current driver’s license in good standing.
